Being an office worker is truly a comfort, because of those sweet monthly salary that will ensure our financial safety for the upcoming months and years. But the monotonous routines that have to be done everyday somehow eventually will make our head explode (metaphorically of course). Some people, in order to overcome those monotonous routines, finally start to prepare their own capital and planning to become an entrepreneur.
One thing that often mostly forgotten by us (literally), is that entrepreneur in fact has bigger responsibility comparing to the office worker. We have to have the tough mental, we have to become a more responsible person, with high discipline, and always be innovative.
If you are (truly) ready to step in into the "Entrepreneur Zone", we highly encourage you to throw away the Office Worker mindsets and start to have these mindsets instead. :)
Everything here means "everything". Not just in the specific field (which you will usually deal specifically when you were still an office worker). When we were still an office worker, we (might) not be really responsible or have to keep in mind what kind of contribution that we have given to the company (as long as we do the job right, and get pain at the every end of the month). But when you have become Entrepreneur, you will not only be responsible for yourself, but also to the company, and most importantly to your employees.
Office workers might only have to focus on the job that is right in front of them. But as an entrepreneur, you will be responsible not just to those short term jobs (which we may know as "mission" of your company), but most importantly you have to be able to define the "Vision" of your company. The long term goal that will be the main objective and aim of your company, and also the first reason why you want to become Entrepreneur of that specific field / business.
No more salary at the end of the month, no more routines, and most importantly, no more "comfortness". As an Entrepreneur, we have to be ready for any new wild - out of the box - crazy ideas (basically everything) that will contribute to your company's reputation and business process. The only "comfortness" that you have to accept for is the "uncomfortness" that you have to deal as a never ending learning process.
Ever hate your boss, or even the company where you work for? No worries, all of the office workers (mostly) might feel that too. In fact, it could be also one of your biggest reason to step into the Entrepreneur Zone.
But when you have become the Entrepreneur, your business will actually represent yourself as the owner. So, loving your business is a MUST. Only after loving your business, you could enjoy every hardship that will definitely come in some unexpected times, and still stand strong to learn and arise from it, to run your business better.
When you were still an Office Worker, breaking the rule will get you fired (for real, at least most of the time). When you have become Entrepreneur, you have the freedom to define the rule, and "Break" it whenever you see fit and it could be beneficial for both your companies and your clients. The only absolute rule that you should never break is to NEVER EVER DOING SOMETHING IMMORAL.
Most people will think about Eight to Five o'clock for the office worker, and even shorter when we have become Entrepreneur. Bad News, everyone. It is TOTALLY WRONG!
Because when you have become Entrepreneur, time is no longer irrelevant. The business will be your lifeline. You must be ready to take every time needed as much as it is needed (of course in the most reasonable way) to always search for the new innovation, learning new things, etc. Once again, you don't have to be bounded with the time range of the work hour. Instead, be proud because you are able to work anytime (and everytime) as long as you like.
Last thing is to decide when to start your own business. While there is no definite answer to that question, the surest answer that we could give to you is that "You will never know until you try". You will never be "ready for it", but you will surely "ready enough" to do it. So try now, and improvise later!
